It's our job to make our clients lives as simple as possible. That means taking care of the nitty-gritty when it comes to development, effectively translating your business goals into a technical specification and online strategy.
Exceptional design starts by understanding your requirements. We ask questions so as to understand your image, goals, audience, project parameters and desired outcomes.
We will define the design problems and cultivate strategies to solve them effectively and memorably. We produce wireframes that map the User Experience in order to address and quash any problems that could disrupt development.
Now we begin to engage the creativity that is required to start developing focused design routes. Core choices about layout, type size and colour palettes are tested within a number of ideas to identify what works best in order to communicate your goals.
This phase is a collaborative process that will involve your input in order to agree on a final design for your website.
Once the design is signed off it is put into development. It is here where a working system that mimics the final design, is built with clean, semantic code that validates according to the W3C Org’s own community developed standards.
The site is then deployed to a staging environment where we will rigorously test its functionality and iron out any bugs before handing the system to you for user testing.
Your system will require content. We will work with you to ensure you are unstoppable when it comes to using and populating your new website.
We will then deploy the website to the production hosting server where a final pre-launch check will be conducted.
Once launched PANDR will be on hand to troubleshoot any queries you may have with regards to your site and its performance.
Once your website is complete we’d like to think our relationship with you will continue.
We can provide a number of services; from monthly performance reports and Search Engine Optimisation through to Mobile Site Enhancements and E-Commerce functionality in order to help grow your site.
The web is constantly changing. Our adaptability means we make sure new standards are always adhered to. New technologies are not used for the sake of it, but embraced when we believe they will enhance a clients project and offer them a competitive advantage.
Some of the technologies and services we enjoy using include: Ruby on Rails, Heroku, Amazon S3, HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery.
Don’t let the silly name fool you. Ruby on Rails is a robust, open source, web application framework for the Ruby programming language. We are Rails specialists and our clients love it too. The technology allows our team to develop dynamic database driven web applications, quickly and efficiently.
From our clients perspective, the beauty of Rails is its ability to allow us to deliver custom built, scalable Websites that meet their requirements, on time and within budget.
Rails provides the perfect balance of structure and flexibility and the popular maxim within the Rails community of Convention over Configuration is one we believe in strongly.
We're not the only advocates of Rails either, it's used extensively across the web, companies such as: Twitter, Groupon, Soundcloud, Yell.com and of course The 405 all use Rails to power their high traffic sites.
As well as building bespoke websites and business applications, we have used Rails in the past to interact with Twitter, Flickr, Facebook and Last FM as well as a number of other API's available across the Internet.
Heroku are our hosting partners of choice. They provide a "productive, powerful, and scalable cloud application platform". Heroku enables agile deployment of our applications, without the cost and complexity that would be involved with monitoring and maintaining servers ourself. Using Heroku allows us to concentrate on what we do best, designing and building.
Tied in closely to hosting, is our use of Amazon S3. We use S3 to store all your media assets: images, audio and any video that might be associated with your website. It allows us to "store and retrieve any amount of data, at any time, from anywhere on the web".
We work in accordance with the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Standards. We do this by writing code that validates. Writing semantic and well structured code makes our websites usable and accessible for people of all abilities.
Our Accessibility page will explain some of the techniques we have employed throughout this site to make sure it is accessible to you.
Analytics is one of our favourite tools. We use it to study the performance of your website, from page speed to page views. It helps us to monitor how well SEO is performing and let's us know where improvements can be made.
All PANDR sites come with Google Analytics baked right in, so our clients can also see who is visiting their site, where they are in the world and which pages they are looking at, clever eh?!
Adhering to Web Standards and writing well structured HTML makes our websites easy for search engines like Google to index.
When it comes to SEO, we believe in organic growth. We achieve this through close collaboration with our clients in order to understand their business and regularly improve their web content.
Whats life without a little fun? We've got the balance of work and play just right, from our teams social activity online to some cross continent cycling, camping trips and touring the local breweries; a happy team is a productive one.
